On day 4 we followed a good elephant track which ended up on an island on the Zambezi where it was with a small herd of cows. It was very thick and after much sneaking in and around to locate the bull we eventually approached him to +/-15 yards, where Bob went for the side brain, hitting him a bit forward and low. But after a couple of exciting close quarter shots he went down. A good Zambezi bull hunted the right way. The rest of the hunt was spent looking for a bushbuck, but no shooters were seen. Well done Bob. |

Pedza Pasi camp. The staff from manger down were excellent, nothing was too much of a problem. The food the chef turned out was great considering what he was cooking on. When we got there, Kay said this is your home for the next 14 (13) days so treat is as such, go anywhere help yourself to drinks etc, could not have been more true. Janet’s only comment in the negative was no plunge pool. So if I was to give it a score then it’s 10 out of 10. We stayed 3 days at Matombo camp. What can I say what a camp with views that are out of this world. Janet said she could have spent the whole safaris here, just looking at the views and people. Comments as above, score 11 out of 10 PH and trackers etc. Alan, I could write pages about him with nothing negative. So all I’ll say is what a great guy and I would love to hunt with him again. One other thing he deserves a lobster once a month. Trackers. What a great bunch of guy’s very keen, looked after me all the time. They all also seemed to love what they were doing. I have to say something about the ele recovery, your guys could teach a lot of people in the UK and elsewhere the meaning of team work, one of the most impressive things I’ve seen. As to our overall thoughts, all I’m going to say is we would love to come back (thinking about). - BM, June 2016 |
