| 14 Day Hunt | |
Day One: 6 am start from Pedza camp at about 6:15 saw some elephant from the road and decided to go have a look see. Got into the herd saw a tuskless cow and got Warren into a shooting position where I thought the cow would come to and she did. Warren made a perfect side brain shot at 20 yards. Rest of the day we recovered the cow and put out a hyena bait and moved over to Mururu camp. Day two: early 4am start to hyena blind, but nothing came. Picked up buffalo herd tracks crossing on the roads. Followed them for a short distance, seeing them, we made a big circle around the herd. Got them walking on to us. We saw a few bulls but young. Then a good dagga boy walked out and Warren again made a perfect shot at 35 yards. Recovered the buffalo then spent the rest of the day relaxing. Day three: early start for Hyena but no luck. Saw eland, did a stalk but no luck. Shot a baboon and did a short walk later in the day and saw a small herd of buffalo. Day four: early start at 3:45am to the hyena blind. Into the blind at 5:40 and Warren shot a big hyena. The rest of the day we relaxed, did a bit of a drive and short walk. Day five/six: we spent at Kanyemba trying to catch fish. No fish but a good time had by all. Day seven to fourteen: was spent moseying around with baboons, six in total. Warren also got a very good waterbuck bull as well as an impala. A good hunt and time was had. |

Fourth trip to Africa, this was the best by far. Could not be happier with the trip, from beginning to end. - Warren, September 2010 |
